Positively Impacting Lives Touched by Tobacco Youth awareness program by the Program for Adolescent Treatment Sponsored by the Alameda County Tobacco Control |
Why Live Impact? Although it may seem a small problem to some, tobacco contains a deadly and addictive drug, nicotine. If you are under 18 possession of tobacco is considered a crime. Youth found to violate this law are referred by schools, courts, or sometimes local law enforcement to LIVE IMPACT instead of paying a $75.00 court ordered fine – or providing up to 30 hours of community service. |
What it Is LIVE IMPACT is a program developed by the The Alameda county Public Health Department and Tobacco Control Program. LIVE IMPACT is designed as a substitute for traditional penalties regarding underage possession of tobacco. Participants decide what they wish to accomplish and what they consider a successful outcome. |
