Education
for At-Risk Adolescents |
||
|
Some “At Risk” young people may be just beginning to exhibit questionable behavior or socializing with groups of peers where this behavior is acceptable.
Our experience is that large numbers of adolescents, probably the majority, fall somewhere in between these two situations. Participants with significant, current or emerging dependency problems will be referred to the teen version of Second Chance’s Drug, & Alcohol Abstinence Support Group or H.E.L.P, Adolescent and Adult Recovery Services pertaining to those in need of more intensive therapy. The PAT program is offered through Alameda County Behavior Health Care Services at ‘no charge.’ Groups are currently held in Fremont, Newark and Union City locations. Also available in designated schools. |
Program members are required to participate in all twelve sessions of the Drug and Alcohol / Life Choices Workshops. SESSIONS MAY INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:
Eligibility to become Peer Counselor with successful completion. |
