YOP Alternative Activities

The objectives are to increase participants’ positive social skills as a result of peer interaction during activity participation, and to increase participants’ connection to the school setting as a result of school-based activities.

This strategy provides for participation of target populations in activities that exclude alcohol, tobacco and other drug use, like:

• After school activities including tutoring, arts & crafts, sports, etc;
• Youth and adult leadership activities;
• Drug-free assemblies and recreational events.
